Zaatar is mainly used in baked products, like manakish (a Lebanese dish a bit like pizza), but also as a seasoning for vegetables and olive oil to be served as table condiment. It tastes both nutty and citrusy and is very versatile. It can be added it to meat, fish, sauces or soups for a traditionally aromatic Middle Eastern flavour
