    In Syria, they have a complete meal with Zaatar by soaking some bread in an olive oil zaatar mix. Heavenly!

  • Zaatar is mainly used in baked products, like manakish (a Lebanese dish a bit like pizza), but also as a seasoning for vegetables and olive oil to be served as table condiment. It tastes both nutty and citrusy and is very versatile. It can be added it to meat, fish, sauces or soups for a traditionally aromatic Middle Eastern flavour

     

  • This is a traditional Middle Eastern blend made with thyme, sesame seeds, salt, sumac, oregano, cumin, fennel seeds and marjoram. This is originally a homemade product according to family preferences and habits so taste can vary from place to place.
