  • Origin & History

    Saffron is native of South West Asia and is ground from the stamens and styles of vibrant purple crocus. The saffron is hand-harvested and then sun-dried to become the vibrant orangey-red spice known for its delicate and intoxicating flavour.

    Uses

    Saffron pairs beautifully with spice in dishes such as Spanish Paella, Italian Risotto alla Milanese or Indian Saffron Pulao. It adds an exotic flare and punch of colour to sweet dishes like creams and puddings too. For best results melt your saffron in a few drops of water and add to the dish early on to give it’s unique aroma time to infuse.
