    Nutmeg originates from Indonesia. Nutmeg powder is made by drying out the seeds of the Myristica fragrans before grinding them down into a fine powder.

    Uses

    Nutmeg is used in many global cuisines. In Europe and the USA, it is most commonly associated with sweet recipes such as puddings and creams or with sauces such as bechamel. In Arab countries it is mainly used to season meats or cheese. It has a very intense aroma with subtle warming notes and this makes it the perfect choice for winter recipes. It is often found paired with other warming spices such as cinnamon or ginger.
