Simple, quick and most importantly delicious. There is nothing quite like a tender lamb shawarma chicken oven cooked, so tender with a yogurt shawarma marinade, that can alternatively be grilled on the barbecue. We like to cook and slice chicken breasts into nice chunks, but feel free to use chicken thighs if you prefer a more moist cut.
Chop the chicken into thick rectangular chunks so that they are easily slid onto the skewers;
Add the yogurt, shawarma, lemon juice and mix everything with your hands until the chicken is marinated evenly;
Prepare the skewers and place in the oven on a tray. After 10 minutes, turn the chicken skewers over, and increase the oven temperature to 200 degrees C, in order to get some nice roasted colour on the chicken.
Serve when ready (usually 5 minutes after increasing the heat).
